Set along the scenic Colne Valley, Linthwaite is a charming village just west of Huddersfield. With its traditional stone homes, panoramic countryside views, and strong community feel, Linthwaite offers the perfect balance between rural beauty and modern convenience.
Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is situated 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Huddersfield, on the A62 in the Colne Valley. The River Colne, Huddersfield Narrow Canal, the Huddersfield to Manchester railway line and A62 main road all pass near to the village. Linthwaite has two teams in the Huddersfield District Cricket League as well as 3 senior football teams playing in the Huddersfield District League. It is a busy village with numerous pubs with Blackmoorfoot Reservoir, at the top of Gilroyd Lane, being a wintering site for migrating wildfowl and wading birds. Local schools include: Linthwaite Ardron Memorial Junior School, Linthwaite Clough Junior Infant and Early Years School and Colne Valley High School.
