Milnsbridge

Milnsbridge is a historic mill village situated along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. With its mix of traditional stone terraces and modern mill conversions, Milnsbridge is attracting a new wave of homeowners and investors drawn to its character and affordability.

The area offers a selection of housing that includes charming cottages, canalside apartments, and modern family homes. It is well-served by local amenities including supermarkets, cafes, and independent shops. Crow Lane Primary is the local school, with Colne Valley High School nearby.

Milnsbridge is undergoing a period of regeneration, and its canal-side location and proximity to Slaithwaite and Huddersfield town centre make it a desirable and convenient place to live. Public transport is readily available, and the area enjoys easy access to the M62.

Until recent times Milnsbridge was mostly centred on the woollen and worsted yarn textile industry, with mills situated along the riverside. Today, there is less evidence of the cloth industry than there was, however there are still many streets of 19th century terraced houses in the area; these were originally built as mill workers’ houses.
